The QueerX Awards continue to honor and elevate voices within the LGBTQ+ sphere, highlighting innovation and influence across media, fashion, music, and activism. The 2024 QueerX Award Winners are:
Best Social Media – Dylan Mulvaney - a trailblazing transgender influencer, captivated audiences with her authenticity, activism, and unapologetic visibility in the online space.
Best Dancer – Dexter Mayfield - renowned for his stunning performances and body positivity advocacy, continues to push the boundaries of dance and representation in the entertainment industry.
Best Queer DJ – The Blessed Madonna - a global DJ powerhouse, electrified dance floors worldwide with her innovative mixes, breaking barriers within the electronic music scene.
Queer Anthem – “Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappell Roan - this empowering anthem, Good Luck, Babe!, quickly became a rallying cry for queer communities, blending irresistible beats with bold, celebratory lyrics.
Best Podcast – The Laverne Cox Show with Laverne Cox - this groundbreaking podcast, The Laverne Cox Show, offered an insightful exploration into identity, race, and the intersectionality of the queer experience.
Best Drag Artist – Nymphia Wind - is a drag artist that has dazzled with her unforgettable drag artistry, merging intricate makeup, costumes, and performances that redefine the art of drag.
Best Fashion Brand – For Them - an LGBTQ+-focused fashion brand that has led the charge in gender-inclusive, sustainable fashion, embracing designs that celebrate queer identity.
Queer Comedian of the Year – Hannah Einbinder - Hacks star Hannah Einbinder captivated audiences with her sharp wit and impeccable timing, marking her as one of the brightest rising stars in queer comedy.
Queer Cultural Moment of the Year – Sam Smith Launches Charitable LGBTQ+ Foundation The Pink House - Sam Smith’s founding of The Pink House, a charitable foundation supporting LGBTQ+ causes worldwide, set a new benchmark for celebrity activism in the queer community.
Best Athlete – Nikki Hiltz - middle-distance runner Nikki Hiltz, who proudly identifies as non-binary, made history both on and off the track, inspiring countless others with their athletic prowess and advocacy for LGBTQ+ visibility in sports.
Queer Twitch Streamer – F1NN5TER - known for challenging gender norms through gaming and live streaming, F1NN5TER has cultivated an empowering and inclusive space for queer gamers across the globe.
This year, the QueerX Visibility Award recognized two trailblazing individuals for their extraordinary contributions to LGBTQ+ visibility:
Nneka Onuorah – Director and producer Nneka Onuorah was honored for her groundbreaking work in documentary filmmaking, including The Same Difference, a powerful exploration of gender roles in the Black lesbian community. Her Emmy Award-winning direction on Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls further cemented her impact in both the entertainment industry and LGBTQ+ advocacy.
Jason Hackett – NBC news anchor Jason Hackett made headlines when he came out on live television, becoming an influential voice for LGBTQ+ representation in mainstream media. His bravery and visibility have inspired countless viewers across the country.
